Mike Fortman
Mike Fortman, President - Mike has been involved in the maintenance and repair of small to large commercial aircraft since 1983. In 1990, Mike began his training in Quality Control and NDI. He has been company certified level II in radiography, ultrasonics, eddy current, magnetic particle, and penetrant methods since 1992, and is currently ASNT Level III certified in ultrasonics. Mike has applied this training to his duties as NDT Inspector, Technical Specialist, and NDT Manager with Northwest Airlines. He has been instrumental in the development, facilitation, and technical consultation of many cost saving NDI projects for NWA, most notably the phased array UT inspection of DC9 landing gear. This project also has the distinction of being the first phased array UT procedure developed for a commercial aircraft. Mike has the on-aircraft NDT experience necessary to understand logistical and detailed solutions to NDI application development.

Greg Linkert, Vice President - Greg started his career in aircraft NDT in 1986 after serving 8 years on the shop floor at Northwest Airlines as a maintenance technician and lead technician. He has been a mainstay of NDT expertise at NWA, providing leadership and technical experience to inspection personnel, engineering groups, and senior management. Greg is currently ASNT level 3 certified in eddy current, fluorescent penetrant, and magnetic particle methods. He is very active in the NDT world, attending many industry conferences and committee meetings each year. Greg was instrumental in developing and implementing the use of advanced NDT methods such as second layer ultrasonics and Boeing’s MAUS scanner system.
