737 Fuselage Skin Chem-Mill Cracks (A.D. 2010-01-09)

Aerotechnics has the capability to inspect your 737 fuselage for cracks along the chem-mill steps.  Recently issued FAA Airworthiness Directive 2010-01-09 requires eddy current inspection of certain 737-300, -400, and -500 aircraft along stringer 1 and stringer 2 right between body station 827 and 847.  Aerotechnics has the capability to perform this inspection at your location or ours (MSP) with eddy current array per the Boeing NDT manual 6-53-30-25 or traditional eddy current per 6-53-30-09.

ATI is X-ray certified

Aerotechnics is fully certified and licensed to perform x-ray inspections on your aircraft.  Please give us a call at 651-209-3160 for more info.

Laser Based Digital Depth Measurement

If you haven't seen the Structural Deformation Measurement System (SDMS) in action yet, please contact us for a demonstration.  This tool is the only system currently qualified by Boeing to measure the depth of very shallow scribe marks.  Industry experience has shown that the vast majority of scribe marks on aircraft fuselage skins are less than .001" deep.  These shallow marks do not require further action, but anything deeper than .001" wil require periodic reinspection, and if you're using an optical micrometer or other tool everything is at least .001" deep.  The SDMS kit can measure down to .0001" with tremendous accuracy.  This tool will pay for itself in one aircraft inspection - imagine the impact on your entire fleet.

The SDMS system is also very adaptable to many other applications in which accurate measurements need to be made and recorded.  Please call Mike at 651-209-3160 or 612-600-8845 for more information.
